Return & Refund Policy

Last Updated: May 8, 2026

At ALDI, we want customers to feel confident about the products they purchase. If an item does not meet your expectations, refund and replacement options may be available depending on where and how the purchase was made.

This Return & Refund Policy explains the procedures applicable to purchases made at ALDI stores and to eligible online grocery orders.

1. In-Store Purchases

If you are not satisfied with an item purchased at an ALDI store, please bring the item to the ALDI location where it was purchased.

Whenever possible, customers should also bring the original purchase receipt.

Our store team will review the return and assist with the appropriate refund or replacement in accordance with ALDI policies.

Returns With a Receipt

When a valid receipt is provided, an approved refund may be issued to the original form of payment used for the purchase.

Depending on the payment provider or financial institution, additional processing time may be required before the refunded amount appears in your account.

Returns Without a Receipt

If the original receipt is unavailable, an eligible return may be refunded in the form of an ALDI Merchandise Credit gift card.

The merchandise credit will generally be based on the current retail price of the returned item.

ALDI reserves the right to review return requests and may limit or decline a return where appropriate, subject to applicable law.

2. Twice as Nice Guarantee

Eligible food products purchased in an ALDI store may qualify for the ALDI Twice as Nice Guarantee.

Under this guarantee, if you are not satisfied with an eligible product, you may receive:

The Twice as Nice Guarantee applies only to qualifying products and is subject to ALDI’s applicable eligibility requirements.

Customers requesting a refund to the original payment method should provide their purchase receipt.

The Twice as Nice Guarantee applies to eligible in-store purchases only and does not apply to online grocery orders.

3. Online Grocery Orders

Purchases made through ALDI.us, the ALDI mobile app, or third-party delivery services are handled differently from purchases made directly inside an ALDI store.

Online orders are generally fulfilled with the assistance of third-party service providers such as Instacart, DoorDash, or Uber Eats.

The service provider responsible for fulfilling the order will generally also handle order-related refund requests and customer support.

4. Problems With an Online Order

For eligible orders placed through ALDI.us and fulfilled through Instacart, customers should report qualifying order problems within 3 days of delivery or pickup.

You may be eligible to request assistance if an order:

After the issue is reviewed, an eligible customer may receive a refund or online credit up to the amount paid for the affected item.

5. Online Returns and Exchanges

ALDI does not generally accept physical returns or exchanges for products purchased through its online grocery ordering service.

Instead, qualifying problems with online orders are resolved through a refund or online credit when appropriate.

Customers should report the issue through the applicable online order support service rather than returning the product to an ALDI store, unless specifically instructed otherwise.

6. Online Refunds

For eligible ALDI.us orders fulfilled through Instacart, approved refunds are processed through the Instacart customer service system.

Although the refund may be initiated promptly after approval, the time required for the funds to appear in your account depends on your:

ALDI and its fulfillment partners do not control processing times imposed by individual financial institutions.

7. Online Credits

In certain circumstances, customers may receive an online account credit instead of a monetary refund.

Eligible online credits may automatically be applied to a future qualifying purchase made through ALDI.us.

Unless otherwise stated:

8. Third-Party Delivery Orders

If an order was placed directly through a third-party delivery platform, refund requests must generally be submitted through that platform.

Instacart Orders

Instacart manages order-related issues including:

DoorDash Orders

Orders placed through DoorDash are subject to DoorDash’s applicable customer support and refund procedures.

Uber Eats Orders

Orders placed through Uber Eats are subject to Uber Eats’ applicable customer support and refund procedures.

The refund terms, eligibility requirements, processing times, and available remedies of third-party platforms may differ from ALDI’s in-store policies.

9. Alcohol Returns and Refunds

Returns and refunds involving alcoholic beverages are subject to applicable state and local laws.

Because alcohol laws vary by jurisdiction, certain ALDI locations may be unable to accept alcohol returns or issue refunds under circumstances where such transactions are restricted by law.

Customers seeking assistance with an alcohol purchase made in-store should bring the item and original receipt to the store and speak with the manager on duty.

For online alcohol purchases, refund eligibility is also subject to applicable law and the policies of the fulfillment provider.

10. EBT SNAP Purchases

Refunds involving products purchased with EBT SNAP benefits are subject to applicable federal and state requirements.

For eligible online orders, approved refunds for SNAP-eligible products purchased using EBT SNAP are generally returned to the customer’s EBT card.

Cash refunds are not provided in place of SNAP benefits where prohibited by law.

Processing times may vary.

11. OTC Network and Medicare-Eligible Purchases

Items purchased using an eligible OTC Network or Medicare-related payment card may be subject to separate refund procedures.

Where a refund is approved, processing times and refund methods may depend on the customer’s plan and payment provider.

Customers should contact the applicable online order support team for assistance with these transactions.

12. Product Warranties

Certain ALDI-exclusive products and national-brand merchandise may be covered by a separate manufacturer’s limited warranty.

Where a manufacturer’s warranty applies, customers should review the warranty documentation, instruction manual, or warranty card included with the product.

Warranty claims may need to be submitted directly to the manufacturer and are separate from ALDI’s standard return and refund procedures.

13. Damaged, Spoiled, or Defective Products

If you receive or purchase a product that is damaged, spoiled, defective, or otherwise unusable, please report the issue as soon as reasonably possible.

For in-store purchases, bring the affected product and receipt, if available, to the ALDI store where it was purchased.

For online purchases, report the issue through the service provider responsible for fulfilling the order.

Photos, order information, receipts, or other information may be requested where reasonably necessary to review the claim.

14. Product Recalls

Products subject to an official safety recall may have separate return and refund instructions.

Customers should follow the instructions provided in the applicable recall notice.

Depending on the nature of the recall, customers may be instructed to:

Recall-related refunds are handled in accordance with the specific recall notice and applicable law.

15. Refund Method

Where a refund is approved for an in-store purchase and a valid receipt is provided, the refund will generally be returned to the original payment method.

Where no receipt is available, qualifying in-store returns may instead be issued as an ALDI Merchandise Credit gift card based on the current retail price of the item.

For online purchases, refunds or account credits are handled through the applicable online fulfillment provider.

The exact method of refund may vary depending on the original payment method and applicable legal requirements.

16. Refund Processing Times

Refund processing times vary according to the payment method and financial institution involved.

Once an approved refund has been initiated, additional processing time may be required before the funds become visible or available in the customer’s account.

Bank processing times are outside the direct control of ALDI.

Customers who have not received an expected refund should first verify the transaction with their bank or card issuer and, where appropriate, contact the service provider that processed the original order.

17. Proof of Purchase

A receipt or other valid proof of purchase helps ALDI verify:

A receipt is required when requesting an eligible in-store refund to the original form of payment.

Where a receipt is unavailable, different refund methods or restrictions may apply.

18. Return Abuse and Fraud Prevention

ALDI reserves the right, subject to applicable law, to review, limit, or decline refund or replacement requests that appear fraudulent, abusive, excessive, or inconsistent with this policy.

Examples may include attempted returns of products not purchased from ALDI, falsified proof of purchase, or repeated misuse of refund procedures.

These measures help protect customers and maintain fair pricing and responsible refund practices.

Nothing in this section limits any rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.

19. Customer Support

The appropriate support channel depends on how the purchase was made.

For purchases made directly at an ALDI store, customers should visit the store where the item was purchased and speak with a store associate or manager.

For ALDI.us or ALDI app orders fulfilled through Instacart, order-specific support is provided through Instacart Customer Experience.

For orders placed directly through DoorDash or Uber Eats, customers should contact the applicable platform’s customer support service.

20. Changes to This Policy

ALDI may update its return and refund procedures from time to time to reflect changes in its services, fulfillment partners, payment methods, applicable laws, or business practices.

The policy and terms applicable at the time a return or refund request is made will govern the request, subject to applicable law.
